Career Day at DCHS

Delmarva Christian High School hosted Career Day Friday, March 17, for students to have the opportunity to meet over thirty professionals from different career fields. Career opportunities presented included public service, nonprofit work, business, freelance work, ministry, healthcare and communications.

Counselor Terri Smith surveyed students to decide which career choices best fit their interests. She then contacted and scheduled speakers who matched those professions based on their careers and walk of faith.

This year’s Career Day keynote speaker was former Delmarva Christian teacher, Mike Hague. Mr. Hague currently serves as Industrial Training Coordinator at Sussex Tech’s Adult Education program. Mr. Hague shared with the students how God has led his career path and how students can follow their calling into the skilled trades through apprenticeships or what he called, the “Other Four-Year Degree.”
