What is ATP?

The Accessible Tuition Program (ATP) is Delmarva Christian’s income based financial aid model that makes Christian education accessible to any family desiring Christian education. It allows qualifying families to pay a tuition level that reflects their financial situation while preserving the excellence and value of a DCS education.

Factors like income, family circumstances, and the cost of living are first evaluated by a third party assessment service and then by the DCS Accessible Tuition Review Committee.Any family who has a full-time student enrolled in K-12 at Delmarva Christian and feels that they are not able to pay the full tuition rate should apply.

New students may also make application to the Accessible Tuition Program (ATP) for an adjusted tuition at the same time they make application for enrollment to Delmarva Christian. *Please note that ATP applications will not be reviewed and tuition levels can not be determined until a Delmarva Christian student enrollment application has been submitted.

2 Corinthians 8:14a

“At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need.”
    • Royal Priesthood

Please note: Once an ATP application is submitted, please be alert to any emails from FACTS notifying you of their possible need for further documentation. Following the full review from FACTS, Delmarva Christian will then send an email to you containing your ATP decision. Upon receiving this email from DCS, follow the final set of directions to complete the process.

FAQs

List of 8 frequently asked questions.

  • Is there a limit to how much aid a family can receive?

Yes. Aid awards are based on need, available funds, and the overall sustainability of the program. Families who can afford to pay full tuition are encouraged to do so, helping ensure the program remains available to those who need it most.
  • How is tuition calculated through the Accessible Tuition process?

Family circumstances range widely and aid is awarded based on need. Factors such as sources of income, expenses, number of students in the family, and cost of living in our area are considered and first evaluated by a third party assessment service (FACTS Financial Aid) and then by the DCS Accessible Tuition Review Committee. The entire process is highly confidential, and the final tuition cost is to be kept in the strictest confidence.
  • What economic situations are considered?

Reduced tuition is awarded based on need. Factors such as sources of income, expenses, number of students in  the family, and cost of living in our area are considered. While some families can afford only a minimal tuition, others can afford to pay full tuition.
  • Can I find out what tuition will be before applying as a student?

New families must make application to the school prior to applying for ATP. Families should continue moving forward in the Application process while your ATP Application is reviewed as award amounts are only provided to accepted students. FACTS Financial Aid and the DCS Review Committee take significant time to review each application; therefore, it is necessary to know the family’s commitment to DCS through the application and interview process prior to reviewing the ATP request.
  • Will an Accessible Tuition request hurt my opportunity to be accepted?

Determination of tuition levels is a separate function from our admissions process. Families should not hesitate to apply out of concern that it might impact their student’s acceptance into a DCS school; however, requests for assistance will not be reviewed until after a student’s acceptance.
  • Do any families pay nothing for tuition?

No, all families are asked to sacrificially invest in their student’s
    Christ-centered education.
  • What expenses are there other than tuition?

Even with accessible tuition, families will still be responsible to pay the $100 New Student Application Fee. Each student will incur other expenses such as lunch, extracurricular activities, school supplies, and dress code compliant clothing. Students at the high school will also be required to have an iPad of Laptop.
  • Do I need to apply for ATP every year?

Yes, family financial situations can change from year to year, so the application process must be completed annually to ensure awards remain accurate.
