Royals Service Day: Students Serve the Community with Purpose

Last week, Delmarva Christian high school students spent the morning living out their faith through Royals Service Day, an annual opportunity for students to serve others throughout the community. With work gloves on and hearts ready, students partnered with local organizations, churches, ministries, and community spaces to make a difference through practical acts of service.

This year’s service day featured a new approach. Rather than traveling by grade level, students served with their community groups, small groups that have been meeting consistently throughout the school year. The goal was to strengthen relationships already formed on campus while extending those connections outward through service.

High School Principal Chloe Hackett shared the heart behind the change:
“The vision was using community groups that had been meeting all year would help further build connections while being the hands and feet of Jesus somewhere in our community."
Students were also given the opportunity to select their own service projects, helping create ownership and enthusiasm for the day. From outdoor cleanup projects to helping ministries and community organizations, students were able to serve in ways that matched their interests and passions.

Royals Service Day reflects Delmarva Christian’s commitment to preparing students spiritually, academically, and physically to know and do God’s will in their lives. It is one thing to talk about faith in the classroom, it is another to put it into action in the community.

We are proud of our students for representing Christ so well and thankful for the organizations who welcomed them. Days like Royals Service Day remind us that leadership begins with service.
