Middle School Volleyball
After losing an entire starting lineup of eighth graders last year, this season’s volleyball team chose to defy the odds—and they did it with excellence. Under the leadership of Coach Dave and Coach Keely, the team finished with an impressive 8–5 record, losing only once when their roster was at full strength and winning at least one set against every opponent they faced.
Captains Charley Bohinski and Charlie Hopkins led by example—Charley tallying 43 digs and 26 kills, Charlie dishing out 51 assists, and the duo combining for 70 aces. Returning seventh grader Claire Gipko added 28 kills, while sixth grader Camille Book made a major impact in her debut season with an incredible 84 aces.
This was a team that not only competed hard but did so with Christlike sportsmanship. The eighth graders will be missed, but with returning talent like Claire, Camille, and seventh-grade standout Margot Eden, the future is bright.
Highlight moment: A thrilling comeback win over Worcester Prep—losing the first set, rallying to win the second, and closing out the match 15–0 behind Camille’s dominant serving run.
Middle School Soccer
The middle school soccer team entered a true rebuilding year after graduating ten eighth graders last season—but what they may have lacked in experience, they made up for in heart and growth. Coach Dypsky led a team that included several fifth graders stepping up to compete alongside veteran players, creating an inspiring blend of determination and teamwork.
Eighth grader AJ Walls led the scoring charge with seven goals this season, bringing his two-year total to ten. Fellow eighth grader Declan McDermott took on the challenge of learning the goalie position while also contributing three goals when playing the field. Sixth grader Miles Taylor shined in goal, leading the team in saves—including a career-high 16 saves in one game.
While the scoreboard didn’t always reflect their effort, this group demonstrated perseverance, growth, and a Christlike attitude in every match.
Highlight moment: Both AJ and Declan recorded two-goal games this season, showing the team’s ability to rise to the occasion.
