Delmarva Christian School recently marked a pivotal moment in school history with the official groundbreaking of its Stronger Together campaign—a visionary, multi-phase building project aimed at unifying the school’s entire educational ministry under one roof.

Held May 27 at the Georgetown campus, the event drew students, faculty, alumni, administrators, board members, community partners, and local leaders to celebrate the launch of a bold step forward in Christian education on Delmarva.

The $32 million campus expansion—spearheaded by Lincoln-based construction firm Richard Y. Johnson & Son—includes three major components:

• A new 60,000-square-foot building for middle and high school students
• A 12,000-square-foot Early Learning Center dedicated to pre-K programs
• A full renovation of the current high school to serve as the future home of Delmarva Christian Elementary School

“This moment is the result of years of prayer, planning, and persistence,” said Head of School Matt Kwiatkowski, addressing the crowd. “We celebrate not just what’s ahead, but the faithfulness of God that’s brought us to this point.”

The dream of a unified campus has been in motion for nearly a decade, shaped through conversations and prayers by school leadership who longed to bring all divisions—early learning, elementary, middle, and high school—together on one site. With construction scheduled to begin this summer, the timeline anticipates completion by late 2026 or early 2027, with a full campus opening slated for fall 2027.

So far, the campaign has raised nearly $29 million, and fundraising efforts continue as the school works toward completing the project debt-free. Originally estimated at $30 million, the cost increased slightly due to inflation and expanded scope.

The Stronger Together campaign reflects far more than just bricks and mortar—it represents a generational investment in students, families, and the future of faith-based education across Delmarva. It’s a reminder that when a community rallies together under one mission, incredible things can happen.
