DCS Constable - Harry Hastings
I am excited in becoming a member of the Delmarva Christian Family, and using the skills I have acquired over a 26 year career in Law Enforcement to assist in providing a safe and secure learning environment, where our most precious assets, our children, can receive a top notch education in a faith based environment!

Born and raised in Sussex County, a graduate of Sussex Central High School (1993). Employed with the Delaware Department of Correction in August 1997, and served on the DOC CERT Team (Tactical Operations) from 2001-2004. Promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant in July 2019, where I managed two separate Units with 16 assigned staff members, and approx. 290 Offenders. Responsibilities included management of SCI's highest security level Housing Unit, maintaining daily security operations, supervision of line staff, completion of security inspections and safety drills, and providing a safe and humane environment for those in DOC's care.
Certified Instructor for First Aid/CPR/AED where I performed staff certification training.
Promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in August 2022, where I assisted in SCI's Hearing Office, conducting investigations on infractions of DOC policy and procedures. Additional duties included staff management, and conducting a leadership role in Use of Force incidents and reviews.
In May 2023 I attended the Constable Academy at Wilmington University, receiving training in Delaware Criminal Law, Laws of Arrest, Search and Seizure, Defensive Tactics, Use of Force, Criminal Investigation, Threat Assessment, De-Escalation Techniques, Effective Communication and numerous other related Law Enforcement topics.
