Fall Sports Recap

High School Sports
Boys Soccer:
The boys soccer team finished the season with six wins of ESIAC opponents earning them a trip to the ESIAC championship tournament for the first time in four years.
 
All Conference - Lewis Burris (SR), Justin Boyer (SR), JD Hastings (JR)
Honorable Mention - Isaiah Walton (SO)
 
Field Hockey:
Field Hockey finished the season with four wins, including a win at home on senior night against Seaford. A special note on this season on one senior in particular… goalie, Lizzie Moyer finished her career at DCHS with 787 saves on 1,019 shots on goal and a trip to the Blue Gold Game.

Cross Country:
The Cross Country teams took a small step backward in overall placement in the state this year but achieved personal bests and growth as a collective unit. Megan Yoder placed in the top 20th in the county at the Sussex County Cross Country Championships on October 26, 2022.

Honorable Mention - Breanna Perry (SO)

Volleyball:
The history making squad finished the season 13-2 en route to becoming the first team from Sussex County to make a volleyball state semifinal.  After losing a hard fought match to St. Marks in the semifinals, the team beat Caravel Academy in the state final consolation match to earn the 3rd place finish. Tessa Kwiatkowski reached a personal career milestone of 1,000 career assists.

Ellie Millaway (SR) - Third Team All-State

Middle School
The middle school soccer and volleyball teams competed against shared opponents Epworth, Holly Grove, Greenwood Mennonite, and Holy Cross while the Volleyball team also picked up games against Worcester Prep.  Thanks to the coaches and dedicated athletes who wore Royal Purple this fall.
