Carson Scholars Announced
Delmarva Christian Schools is pleased to announce two Carson Scholar's for the 2021-2022 school year.
Junior, Keelie Conaway was selected from Delmarva Christian High School for the first time and Senior, Isabelle Donihue has been chosen for a second time as a Carson Scholar.
According to the, "Carson Scholarship Fund website in 1994 by Dr. and Mrs. Ben Carson to address and stress the importance of education in the United States. They believed that if children could be taught early to excel, they would stay motivated and have a higher chance of educational success later in life."
The Carson Scholars Fund awards $1,000 college scholarships to stellar students who are dedicated to serving their communities. These, “Carson Scholars” are awarded Olympic-sized medals and a trophy for their school to celebrate their accomplishments. DCHS students are nominated by teachers and staff each year in order to compete for a Carson Scholarship. After staff voting, only one student is able to apply (and reapply).
