Emphasis will be placed on beginning level Spanish vocabulary and grammar, as well as a continued study of Hispanic culture. At this level, students will learn how to communicate about basic topics such as: greeting and saluting people formally and informally, telling time, describing one’s self as well as others, acknowledging one’s feelings and health, talking about one’s likes and dislikes as well as leisure time activities, describing one’s family, talking about the weather/climate/seasons, ordering food and beverages, and describing the classroom environment as well as their home.

Spanish II

Spanish II is a fundamental course that focuses on the reinforcement of acquired linguistic, cultural and spiritual skills from Spanish I. This course is vital in creating an intermediate and more solid language foundation for the beginning  and intermediate Spanish learner. Students at this level develop higher skills that may enable them to be more successful bilingual speakers in the United States or in a Spanish-speaking country. Emphasis will be placed on continuing developing and reinforcing vocabulary and grammar tools, as well as Hispanic cultural knowledge. At the end of this course, students will be able to listen, speak, read and write in the present and preterite tenses and be engaged in the conversation process to speak about current and completed actions in the past. Spanish 2 continues the main calling that God places on every true follower of Jesus, which is to love God and love others. This is accomplished by exploring the teaching Jesus gives in Matthew 6:9-13 in praying to God and as well as how Jesus lives out the principles of Loving God and Loving others through the miracles he performs and His resurrection.
